Merging Cultures

Many tend to view the Egyptians as a monolithic culture which can create an image of a people who spent over 3000 years unaffected by the many cultural groups that existed outside their borders. In truth, as time passed the people of Egypt would incorporate many aspects of other cultures into their own. This trail shows some of the examples of this chosen from the Egypt Centre’s collection. When looking at these objects, please think about the ways in which this concept appears.
