A copper alloy razor, probably from Abydos. The object was gifted to the University of Wales, Aberystwyth by John Bancroft Willans, a subscriber of the Egypt Exploration Fund/Society, who received the object in 1903. It was subsequently gifted to the Egypt Centre in 1997. A similar razor is illustrated in tomb group D102 from Abydos (D Randall-MacIver & Mace 1902 pl. XLVI. For a similar razor dating to the Eighteenth Dynasty, see Anonymous (1981, p. 192). Such razors are typical of the New Kingdom.
