Architectural fragment, possibly of a model
This is half of an architectural fragment, likely the top of a column in white quartzite. This is too small to be functional as a column in a building, and has an indentation in the top, so may be an incense burner. Alternatively it may be a model. Such models are common from the Late to the Graeco-Roman Period. See example the Metropolitan Museum of Art 12.182.6. See also W168 and EC271.
