Description

Metal headdress with two plumes. Known as the šwty-crown, this headdress seems to have been known from around the Fourth Dynasty. The feathers may be that of the ostrich or falcon and below are the horns of the ram. It is often worn in conjunction with the atef-crown. The crown would have adorned the head of a copper alloy statue. Gift from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
