- Description
-
Faience object. This is described in MacGregor sale catalogue of 1922 as a fragment found in the temple of Amun at Meroe in 1910. This item is part of the MacGregor collection purchased by Wellcome in 1922. It was excavated from Meroe in 1910 by John Garstang and is probably a votive offering. Decoration present on curved sides, resembling elongated petals, plus a triple raised line running around the upper(?) rim. W284 was sold in the same lot. It looks similar to the funnel in Durham (EG938).
