This standing faience amulet of Taweret with face missing has a suspension loop at the top. Taweret was a goddess who took the form of a hippopotamus, and protected women in childbirth. Donated by Mrs Cox. This had belonged to her father, Edward Cox, who brought it from Egypt around 1903. He had been a valet for Lord Dynever.
