- Description
-
Wooden mallet. 21cm long, 13cm diameter. The handle is polished through prolonged handling. See Doll, S.K. In 'Egypt's Golden Age. The Art of Living In The New Kingdom' 1982. The Museum of Fine Arts Boston p54. This states that baton-shaped mallets are known from all periods and are more common the hammer-shaped examples. They were used for agriculture, woodworking, stoneworking, etc.
