Description

A diorite palette. The remains of the modern inscription on the object reads 'flat polishing stone [....] from Naqada Casira Jan 27 1902 No2'. Naqada Period is named after the type site in Upper Egypt, just north of Thebes. Such hardstone palettes are also found in Nubia.
