Description

This figure is the only funerary figure within the collection of which we can be fairly sure of its provenance. On the back of the figure '380' is written in pencil. This correlates to the tomb number from the Beni Hasan excavations of Garstang. The grave register suggests a model boat and brewery were included in the tomb, and the positioning of the arms seems more likely to correlate to a brewing scene. It likely dates to the Twelfth Dynasty.
