Wooden headrest, top section only, bowl like surface. Purchased by Wellcome at auction in 1928 from the collection of Charles Tabor. Headrests like these were used throughout Dynastic Period in Egypt. See Hallinckx, B.R. 2001 The symbolic assimilation of head and sun as expressed by headrests.
