Description

Fragment of linen shroud decorated with painting, which is partly stitched onto card. The decoration depicts the god Osiris, whose hands can be seen at the top. The body of Osiris is covered with a representation of a beaded net. Roman Period in style (Soter-type shroud). Purchased by Wellcome in 1906 from the collection of Robert de Rustafjaell.
