Description

A Middle Kingdom battle axe, made of bronze. It has a crescentic blade attached to a bronze case socket for the shaft. The wooden shaft is encased in bronze, although the casing has largely perished. This object was part of the MacGregor collection purchased by Wellcome in 1922.
