Description

Small ellipsoid jar with pointed base and rolled rim (outside). The vessel has a deep red slip with vertical burnishing and was hand-made. One side has been reconstructed. It is an example of prehistoric "red polished ware" as defined by Flinders Petrie and dates to the predynastic period (Naqada I-II).
