Black stone mould. 115 x 54 x 12mm. For a collection of stone moulds and suggestions as to what they may have been used for see Lacovara et al. 2001. 'The Collector's Eye....' p99-101. Bes-like head with long beard and another long arrow-shaped motif on one side, long motif on the other side. Formerly the property of Mansoor Abd Essayid purchased by Wellcome in 1934.

- (This Wellcome label was found seperate from any object and had the words 'mould: black basalt' It could belong to this mould or any other black mould in the collection, but we only have 6 basalt moulds and EC656 is the only one of the right size..)
