Pottery jar encrusted in modern times with blue glass or faience beads lengthways down the vessel, perhaps imitating a Hyksos jar. See Petrie '70 years....' 20.11.1908 says such vessels were found with rishi coffins dating to around the 12th Dynasty'. Some of the glass rods in clear case with jar in box. Height 7.9cm. However, the vessels described by Petrie are contained in rods shaped to form nets. Thus, this is a fake. See also W1293 and W1294. This is probably from the Frankland Hood Collection purchased by Wellcome in 1924, lot 57.
