Description

One of a pair of wooden funerary figures (companion W447). These figures were catalogued whilst in the Wellcome collection as soldiers, but they seem more likely a male and female offering bearer (also referred to as porters). This male figure is in a striding position and depicted wearing a kilt. The left hand raised to the shoulder (likely supporting a haunch of meat or jar), and the right hand at his side, likely carrying a trussed fowl.
