- Description
-
A wooden statue of hippopotamus-headed man (likely the god Seth). It was purchased by Wellcome in 1925. Statues in wood are uncommon and images of gods from the Third Intermediate Period are usually cast in metal. The way in which the human figure was depicted differs depending on the material used.
