- Description

A green glazed composition (now white) figure of Taweret holding the sa-symbol. One fore-paw has broken away. This statuette may have been dedicated to the goddess after a successful birth or in anticipation of a safe and successful delivery. It dates to the Twenty-sixth Dynasty, and is on long-term loan from the British Museum who purchased it in 1927 from the antiquities dealer Denis P. Kyticas.
