Description

This cartonnage torso covering dates to the Ptolemaic Period. The cartonnage can be divided into three registers, surrounded by a decorative border. The top register shows six mummiform snake-headed deities, the second has four seated male deities holding feathers/knives, while the third register is composed of a variety of floral patterns. This cartonnage was found inside coffin AB118, although it is uncertain if it was originally associated with it. It was a gift from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
